ABSTRACT

Shortly the first tunnels built in Spain with white concrete (white cement and local aggregates) will be opened to traffic. They are situated in the Caravia-Llovio section of the Cantabric Expressway, near the well-know Asturian town of Ribadesella. In the article the main features of these works are presented, as well as the reasons for choosing white concrete, a decision which, in some way, does not make necessary to approach the end of the tunnel to see light.
